Describing Palm tree

My school has many tree. In every angle of my school there are trees. Because, my school is adiwiyata school. In my school also has some species of palm trees. Here, i will describe about palm tree.

Palm trees are a family of plants. This family is called Arecaceae. Most of them are trees but some are shrubs. There are over two thousand kinds, living in many kinds of places from rainforests to deserts.  Palms are one of the most well-known and widely planted tree families. They have had an important role to humans throughout much of history. Many common products and foods come from palms, and they are also used a lot in parks and gardens in areas that do not have heavy frosts.  In historical times palms have been symbols for victory, peace, and fertility. palms remain a popular symbol for the tropics and vacations.

Here are some palm tree planted in my school, there are Red Palm, King palm, Bottle palm, Ekor tupai palm. Here are the explanation about this kind of palm tree.

A)   Red Palm (Cyrtostachys lace danAreca vestiaria)

The privileges of palm is on the midrib and red bone. To retain the red color, and should be planted in the open around the yard. Red palm is native to Indonesia, among others, can be obtained in Borneo, in the lowland swamp forests up to 500 meters above sea level.Scientific classification: Kingdom: Plantae; Division: Magnoliophyta; Grade: Liliopsida; Order: Arecales; Family: Arecaceae; Genus: Cyrtostachys; Species: Cyrtostachys lace. Synonyms: Cyrtostachys Lakka

B)   King Palm (Roystonea regia)

King Palm (Roystonea regia) is a group of palms that are grouped in the genus Roystonea. King palms are thought to originate from the Caribbean and the Americas consists of at least 10 species. One of the common species in Indonesia are Roystonea regia. Scientific classification: Kingdom: Plantae; Division: Magnoliophyta; Grade: Liliopsida; Order: Arecales; Family: Arecaceae; Genus: Roystonea; Species: (one) Roystonea regia

C)   Bottle Palm (Hyophorbe lagenicaulis)

Bottle palm (Hyophorbe lagenicaulis) is a species of palm which is popular as an ornamental plant. In English called Bottle Palm or Palmiste Gargoulette. Palem this type are thought to originate from Round Island, Mauritius. Scientific classification: Kingdom: Plantae; Division: Magnoliophyta; Grade: Liliopsida; Order: Arecales; Family: Arecaceae; Genus: Hyophorbe; Species: Hyophorbe lagenicaulis

D)   Tupai Palm (Wodyetia bifurcata)

Foxtail Palm : The bulk of the foxtail population is centralized in Australia where it is known for its large leaves and small orange-red fruit. The tree grows to about 35 feet and thrives in direct sunlight.                                    Scientific classification : Kingdom : Plantae, Subkindom : Tracheobionta, Division : Magnoliophyta, Class : Liliopsida, Sub class : Arecales, Family : Arecaceae, Genus : wodyetia, Species : Wodyetia bifurcata.

          Since today, Palm tree is the most planted trees. Especially in the cosmo politan area because palm tree didn’t need large area and easy to maintain.
